GAMBLING SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

The Sunday Project: Take a moment to pause from gambling – space to think, learn and reset.

Welcome to the Sunday Project from Stop Betting Sports

Online gambling is a $1bn per day epidemic in the US. Hitting individuals and families financially and is associated with poor mental health, even suicide.

But there is hope for everyone who gets caught up.

The Sunday Project provides a breathing space at the hardest part of the week – Giving information, strategies and somewhere to create space when the urge to gamble may be at its strongest.

Our sessions cover what you can do to stop gambling, what support is out there and importantly show you are not alone.

Who is it for?

The Sunday Project is for anyone 15+ who feels gambling is starting to get in the way – whether that’s sports betting, online casinos, fantasy leagues, esports or skins gambling.

You do not need to have lost huge amounts of money to join. If gambling is stressing you out, you are welcome.

Young people who bet more than they planned

Athletes who feel pressured to bet on their own sport

Students juggling study, work and gambling

Parents or carers wanting to understand what is going on

What is the online gambling epidemic?

Many people blame themselves for their addiction and getting out of control, however, the system is rigged against you from the start, and optimised to create addiction faster.

It is unsurprising that people get addicted and find themselves logging on and playing. Small wins creating a buzz, a user experience that just wants you to continue gambling and with sports the lure and love of the game.

If you recognise any of these signs, talk to us. You can break the cycle!

  • Hiding your gambling from families and friends?
  • Spending more money than you wanted?
  • Feelings of depression and anxiety about losing money or even your possessions?

Stop Betting Sports helped me see how deep I was in. The tools and support gave me the confidence to hit pause, talk to my family and start getting my weekends (and my money) back.

I used to spend Sundays chasing losses on my phone. Now, thanks to Stop Betting Sports, I spend them actually watching the game with my kids instead of betting on it.

As a coach, I was worried about the lads’ betting habits but didn’t know where to start. The resources from Stop Betting Sports gave me the right words and a clear path to point them towards real help.
